IN RE ADJANCOTE ACQUISITION; KLU vs. AGYEMANG II

The case concerns a dispute over title to a piece of land known as Adjancote, acquired by the Government of Ghana for a television station. Three claimants submitted rival claims for compensation: the Berekusu stool (first claimant/respondent), the Nuumo Nmashi family of Teshie including the Krobo, Klu and Agbawe quarters (second claimant/appellant), and the Nii Dowuona family of Osu (third claimant). The lands tribunal initially awarded compensation to the first claimant, rejecting the others. The second claimant appealed, challenging the tribunal's preference for the respondent's traditional evidence and the factual findings regarding possession of the land.
