On the 20th of March, 1995 Messrs Fugar & Company, Legal Practitioners and Notaries Public, filed the instant petition as Solicitors acting for and on behalf of their clients Mr. Edward O. Boakye his wife and the four other companies petitioners herein. The companies are United Mattress & Foam Company Limited, Kantos Hospital, Furniture Joinery and Construction Limited, and Airport Shopping Complex. All the aforementioned companies are managed by the first petitioner Mr. Edward O. Boakye. The 1st petitioner and his wife were the only shareholders of the said companies. The petition was brought under section 35(2) of the Transitional Provisions of the 1992 Constitution, and the relief sought was for the deconfiscation of certain properties allegedly owned by 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th petitioners.
