The Complainant, Mr William Blay until his dismissal on 7th October, 1986 was the Branch Manager of the Respondents at Breman Asikuma. In his petition dated 20th October, he requested the Commission to prevail on the Respondents to pay his gratuity, pension fund and provident fund contributions to him. The facts of the case are that the Complainant was sometime in 1986 arraigned before the Public Tribunal on charges of fraud. Following his conviction and sentence by the Tribunal the Complainant was dismissed from the Respondents' employment. In the course of an interview held at the Offices of the Commission, the Complainant conceded that his dismissal was as a result of his conviction and pleaded for clemency. He accordingly requested the Commission to intervene on his behalf on humanitarian grounds. By a letter dated 29th November, 1999, the Commission implored the Respondents to reconsider the Complainant's case on humanitarian grounds. In the light of the Complainant's convicti...
