DANIEL BUADI AND LABONE SECONDARY SCHOOL
DECISION The Commission received a complaint from Mr. Daniel Buadi on October 12, 2000. The Complaint is that the Headmistres of the Respondent school has decided that the daughter of the complainant, Miss Bernice Appiah would not be allowed to write the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (November-December, 2000) in the school because she has been found to be pregnant. The Commission had an oral interaction with the Respondent to intervene on behalf of the student but the Respondent still stated that she would not allow the student to write the said examination. The Commission subsequently sent a formal letter to the Respondent for comments. The comments have not been received yet. The Commission also sent a letter to the Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service to seek policy guidance on the matter.
