The complainant was until 1986, an Accountant/Bursar in the employment of the Ghana Education Service {GES). He stated that he was dismissed following an Audit Task Force inspection in 1986. He stated that an amount of ¢195,000.00 had been paid by him as Bursar of Sefwi Wiawso Training College for the supply of materials. However, the Task Force insisted that the goods had taken too long to materialise. The complainant stated that he had tendered documents to support the transaction. He stated further that his assertions were confirmed by the Headmaster. He was however ordered to refund the money which he did. After that, he was interdicted and then his appointment was terminated. The Ghana Education Service in its comments stated that it never had access to the Task Force reports and therefore could not comment meaningfully on the complaint. All efforts by the Commission to obtain a copy of the relevant Task Force Report have proved futile. The Commission observes that the Ghana E....
