The complainants lodged a complaint with the Takoradi office on 21 September 1999 claiming payment of half salary from December 1996 to October 1998. COMPLAINT They stated in their complaint that they were former employees of respondent. On 16" December 1996 they were cited in a theft case. As a result they were suspended and put on half salary. Subsequently they were arraigned before the Takoradi Circuit Court. The court found them guilty and fined them ¢400,000 and ¢600,000 respectively. Their contention was that they were entitled to be paid their outstanding half salary in accordance with the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. COMMENTS The respondent admitted placing the complainants on suspension. It similarly admitted that they were entitled to half of their monthly salary pending the outcome of the court case.
