EVELYN BRUCE AND STANDARD CHARTERED BANK
In her petition dated 8th November, 1993, the complainant, Evelyn Bruce sought the intervention of the Commission in respect of her dismissal by the Respondents, Standard Chartered Bank. In the course of investigations the complainant was invited for a discussion at the offices of the Commission. She however failed to honour the invitation. By another letter dated 8th May, 2000, the complainant was reminded to call for the said discussion failing which investigations would be discontinued. Again the complainant failed to honour the invitation. In the circumstances the Commission invokes S.2 (4) of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (Complaint Procedure) Regulations, 1994, C.1.7 which states: "Where a complaint lodged with the Commission is not pursued for three months from the date it is lodged, the complaint shall lapse thereafter" The Commission accordingly discontinues further investigations into the petition.
