The Complainant was employed as a loader with Ghana Airways Ltd in 1981. On the recommendation of external consultants, his employment was terminated along with a group of workers. He petitioned against his termination to a Special Review Committee made up of the CDR, TUC and Ghana Airways. This Committee ruled that the termination was unjustified and arbitrary. The Committee recommended that, the Complainant be reinstated. His termination was however changed into redundancy. The Complainant avers that the Respondent has been employing people to fill the vacancy created by his departure. The Respondent stated that in 1987, the Government published a White Paper on the basis of the Report of the Ghana Airways Committee of Enquiry set up to investigate the Company's operation. All staff were to be vetted for quality and efficiency and unsuitable staff were to be retrenched.
