Date of Received: 1ST October, 1998 Claim: Unlawful Dismissal Summary of Complaint: Complainant is a watchman at respondent Company's workshop. Thieves broke into the place and made away with goods when complainant was on duty. Subsequently he was dismissed. Findings: Respondent in their reply stated that complainant failed to report the conduct of theft and also when all suspects were searched Company property was recovered from them. The Company therefore sacked complainant for gross deriliction of duty. Till date the complainant has failed to reply to same. Decision: The Commission ceases further investigation in this matter in accordance with S.13 (1)(b) of Act 456.
