The complainant has been charged with murder. He is currently on remand at the James Fort Prison. According to his petition a copy of the bill of indictment has been served on him and from the summary of evidence he finds that the evidence points to him as the perpetrator of the offence. The complainant has a different version of the indictment and claims to know the real offender. He stated that the police investigation did not cooperate with him when he told them what he knew about the murder of the deceased. He is inviting this Commission to take up the conduct of the case and reinvestigate it. The relief the complainant seeks in this Commission cannot be granted. The Commission has no mandate to investigate criminal offences such as the complainant is facing. It lies properly with the police and the Attorney General's office.
