STEPHEN K. AWUKU AND PRECAST & SPUN CONCRETE PRODUCTS LTD.

In a complaint dated 17th May, 1996, the Complainant, Mr. Stephen Awuku requested this Commission to intervene in a matter between himself and the Respondent, Precast and Spun Concrete Products. He stated that he had worked with the Respondent for 25 years. Following a retrenchment exercise, his appointment was terminated. He had reached the rank of Senior Accounting Officer. He took issue with the amount of money presented to him as entitlements for 25 years service which was as follows: (a) Long Service Award ¢1,727,625.00 (b) Severance Award ¢1,249,857.96 ¢2,977,482.96 He gave his own computation for what should have been due him as follows: Long Service Award 20" colour TV & V.C.R. ¢1,325,000.00 Six months basic salary $ 813,025.20 ...
