This complaint is about unlawful dismissal from work. Dated January 28,1997, the complaint stated the Complainant was employed by the Respondent as a geologist with effect from April, 1996, and was put on six years' probation. The Complainant further stated that because of satisfactory work and conduct, exhibited, the Respondent awarded him an increment during the probation period, which ended on September 30, 1996. However, he alleged, owing to the hours and pressure of work, he developed pains in the waist for which he sought a medical treatment. During this period, the Respondent, by a letter dated October 30, 1996 extended his probation for further 3 months to end on December 31, 1996. Meanwhile, on January 3, 1997, his doctor advised that he be put on light duties for 4 weeks, pending a review on January 31, 1997.
