Introduction: The Complainant petitioned this Commission against the wrongful termination of her appointment by the Respondent. In her complaint dated 21st August 2000, she also alleged discrimination on the basis of gender contrary to Article 17(2) of the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana. The Complainant's Case: The Complainant stated that she worked with the Respondent for 6 years. Her appointment was however terminated on the grounds that she had been taking her child to work (a day care centre) with her. She claimed that he termination was based on gender contrary to the Constitution she stated that two other women had been taking their children along to work as well. These women had however resigned their posts of their own volition. She stated further that the Respondent had deducted Social Security Contributions from her salary but had not paid them to SSNIT.
