This complaint was brought against the Respondent for having refused to grant the Complainant a broker's licence. COMPLAINANT'S CASE According to the Complainant, he was told he needed 10 years' post-qualification experience to become a Principal Officer of a brokering company. Fortunately for him, he had 18years experience after obtaining a West African Insurance Institute (WAII) Diploma. Yet the Respondent has since 1993 refused to grant his application for a broker's licence. The Respondent has also refused to approve Mr. J.V. Essilfie proposed by the Complainant as the second Principal Officer of his company, Allied Insurance Broker's Ltd. He is therefore asking the Commission to come to his aid RESPONDENT'S CASE The Respondent admitted it refused the Complainant's application and proposal but defended its stand.
