JONAH YAMDOGO (COMPLAINANT) AND GHANA PUBLISHING CORPORATION & DIVESTITURE IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE

The Complainant, Mr Jonah Yamdogo was a Production Supervisor in the employment of the Respondents until his retrenchment in 1994 following the Divestiture programme. In his petition dated 3rd November, 1997 he requested the Commission to intervene and compel the Divestiture Implementation Committee, Second Respondents herein to sell to him H/No. C.24, Kalpolin Estates, Tamale, belonging to the Ghana Publishing Corporation 1st Respondents on the grounds that he was the sitting tenant. Whilst the petition was being investigated by the Commission, Mr Ishak Alhassan whose bid to purchase the house in question had been accepted by the 2nd Respondent cross-petitioned as an interested party requesting the Commission to prevail on the 2nd Defendants to conclude the transaction by passing vacant possession to him. In his cross-petition Mr Ishak Alhassan further demanded that if the Commission was going to prevail on the Divestiture Implementation Committee to sell the property to the Complain...
