SOPHIA ANKRAH AND LAND VALUATION BOARD
By her initial complaint dated 22nd January 1997 the Complainant, widow of Mr. H.A.A. Ankrah, claimed from the Respondent, refund of an amount of ¢3,840,000 being the cost of valuation of her parcel of land. The Complainant alleged that but for the negligence of the Respondent, the valuation could have been avoided. In its decision dated 3rd July 2000, the Commission made the following findings: a) The Complainant challenged the Respondent's initial decision that her claim was statute-barred. In order to review that decision she was requested to submit particulars showing the manner in which her interest has been affected by the acquisition; b) The Respondent was not negligent in asking the Complainant to do a valuation of her land since without the valuation it would have been impossible to make any determination on the Complainant's interest claim; c) Complainant's complaint be dismissed as being without merit.
