INTRODUCTION In a complaint dated 4th September, 2001, the Complainant asked this Commission to help him retrieve his salary which the Respondent had returned to Government chest. THE COMPLAINANT'S CASE The Complainant stated that the Respondent had without any tangible reason, ordered his salary amounting to ¢735,000.00 to be paid back to Government chest. He stated that the reason given to him was that he had solicited the assistance of a friend at the Controller and Accountant-General's Department to help some teachers obtain salary advance. He stated further that his salary was frozen for 8 months. This made life difficult for him. He now owes money lenders ¢2,000,000.00 which he attributes to his District Director of Education. THE COMMISSION'S INVESTIGATION The Commission did not, as is usual practice, send for comments. This was because the Complainant's petition had some attachments which addressed the issue.
