INTRODUCTION In his complaint of 5th February, 2002, the Complainant alleged that he was employed by the Respondent as a Security Guard and somewhere along the line his salary was shortened by a certain amount so he reported it to the Accountant who advised him to report it to the Site Engineer. The Complainant stated that the Site Engineer rather assaulted him when he reported the matter to him and asked him to stop the work. The Complainant therefore sought the assistance of the Commission to recover his salary arrears and salary in lieu of notice as well as compensation for assault from the Respondent OBSERVATION Both parties were invited for mediation on several occasions but none of them showed up. It was made clear in the latest letter to the Complainant that his refusal to honour our invitations would compel the Commission to close his file on grounds of lack of interest.
