A complaint of unlawful detention of an 8-year-old boy was lodged with the Commission on April 5 2004 by the Complainant against the Sakumono Police. Complainant Case: The Complainant's contention was to draw the attention of the Commission to a publication in the Junior Graphic issue of November 12-18 2003 which publication alleged that an 8 year old pupil of Holy Child School at Sakumono near Accra had a shock of his life in October 13 2003 when he was detained at the Sakumono Police Station for 2 hours for breaking the back door glass of an Opel Record car. The Complainant appealed to the Commission to take serious view of the afore-stated and pursue to its logical conclusion. Flowing from the afore-stated complaint, the Commission initiated investigations. The Commission invited the Respondents to its offices for discussions on the issues raised there in the afore-mentioned publication. In attendance were DSP A.A.
