INTRODUCTION: In a complaint received on the 18th February 2004 the Complainant claimed that the Respondent had been making certain illegal deductions in his salary with the reason that their records indicated that he had procured a loan of three million cedis (¢3,000,000.00) from their agents. The Respondent admitted being at fault and promised to rectify the anomaly and refund the said monies but they had not done so despite the Complainant's numerous petitions. OBSERVATION: The Commission declines to investigate this complaint, as it observes that the matter is a labour related one involving a private institution. The Complainant is therefore advised to pursue the matter internally or seek redress at the Labour Office or in Court. DECISION: Further investigations into this case cease in accordance with Section 13(1)(a) of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice Act 1993 (Act 456) which states that: "Where in the course of the investigation of any complai....
