INTRODUCTION The Complainant petitioned on behalf of his wife on 5th December 2002. In the petition, he alleged that his wife had worked with the Respondent for eight years. He stated that on 31st May 2002, his wife delivered and subsequently proceeded on maternity leave with permission from the Respondent. Surprisingly however, without any apparent reason, his wife's appointment was terminated. He stated further that the Respondent did not pay his wife any terminal benefits neither did he indicate his intention to do so. The Respondent also failed to pay the Complainant's SSNIT contributions for the period she worked with them. He requested the Commission to investigate the matter and cause the Respondent to fulfill his obligations. OBSERVATION It was observed that the Complainant failed to provide the Commission with the Respondent's contact address. Again the Complainant did not provide any documentary proof of the Respondent's failure to pay his wife's SSNIT contributions. ...
