INTRODUCTION In his complaint lodged on 28th September 2000, the Complainant prayed the Commission to impress upon the Respondent to prosecute certain culprits in an assault case reported by his cousin, Klutse Adjokatse. COMPLAINANT'S CASE The Complainant lodged the complaint on behalf of his cousin by name Klutse Adjokatse who was a taxi driver at Sogakope in the Volta Region. He alleged that on 3rd November 1999 about seven (7) officers of the CEPS stationed at Sogakope assaulted his cousin without any justified cause. Upon enquiry, it was discovered that the matter had been reported to the Sogakope Police and CID Inspector Bright and Sergeant Gli were supposed to be in charge of the case. The Complainant also gathered that no statements were taken from the CEPS officials. According to the Complainant, he made several attempts to have the Respondent find the culprits to enable legal proceedings to take its course.
