INTRODUCTION The complainant worked with the respondent as a waitress for 8 months until her appointment was terminated on 22nd December 2000electrocuted on 22nd December 2000. COMPLAINANT'S CASE Narrating her side of the story, the complainant said the respondent employed her as a waitress. In the cause of her duties, she was electrocuted and this led to numbness in the affected arm. Initially, the respondent paid part of the medical bills but refused to make any further payment. The complainant then went to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and was diagnosed as lethargy due to electric shock. The complainant's level of incapacitation and compensation was worked by the Labour department and the hospital at 20% and ¢1,920,000.00 (One Million Nine Hundred and Twenty Thousand Cedis) respectively. On 6th February 2001, the complainant requested for an excuse duty to enable her attend a funeral. The complainant alleged that she reported to work on the appointed date but the respondent ....
