By a complaint dated 11th July 1994 the Complainant, a former storekeeper at the Ho Depot of the Omnibus Services Authority alleged that he was dismissed on 10th June 1994 for an offence he did not commit. He petitioned against the dismissal but the Managing Director confirmed it. He, therefore, laid a complaint before the Commission for redress. The Commission invited the Respondents to react to the complaint, as natural justice demands. However the Respondents were not cooperative and their actions and inactions were responsible for the resolution of the case being delayed: ● For a long time the Respondents failed to send us their comments on the complaint; ● A subpoena had to be served on the Managing Director, followed by a letter of intention to attach the body of the Managing Director for contempt before the solicitor of the Respondents wrote apologizing and promising to react to the complaint; ● A considerable time elapsed before a copy of the Conditions of Service wa...
