LORD ERICSSON COMMEY AND ALEX STEPHENSON

FACTS: In a complaint received on the 15th of June, 2004 the Complainant alleged that the Respondent had terminated his teaching appointment without paying him his salary amounting to Six Hundred Thousand Cedis (¢600,000). OBSERVATION: The Commission realizes that the case involves two private individuals. The complainant has been advised by the Commission to take a civil action in court against the Respondent. DECISION: The Commission will not initiate any further investigation into the case because the Complainant can have effective remedy in court. The case is therefore dismissed as per Section 13(1)(b) of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice Act 456 (Act 1993) which reads that: "Where in the course of the investigation of any complainant it appears to the Commission - That having regard to all the circumstances of the case, any further investigation is unnecessary, it may refuse to investigate the matter further"
