KUSI-APPIAH, J.A.: The brief facts of this case are as follows. The respondent (henceforth referred to as the Plaintiff) was until the 2nd day of August, 2000 the Port Electrical Engineer of the Appellant (henceforth also referred to as the Defendant), Ghana Ports and Harbour Authority. On or about 2nd August 2000, the Plaintiff’s employment with the Defendnat was brought to an abrupt end on the basis of the findings of a Committee of enquiry set up by the Management of the Defendant which found inter alia that the Plaintiff slapped one Richard Blankson, a bar attendant of the Defendant with his sandals on the 21st day of October 1999 at the Senior Staff Club House at Takoradi.
