FACTS The Complainant who is a Liberian Refugee alleged in his petition that the respondents have connived with the U.N.H.C.R., the camp Commandant and the Chairman of the Liberian Welfare Council at the Buduburam Refugee Camp in the Central Region to deny him and his family of twenty-two "Refugee status, shelter, food, humanitarian assistance, political asylum and resettlement to a third country". He therefore petitioned the Commission to intervene on their behalf. PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATIONS The Commissioner per a letter dated 5 June, 2002 referred the matter to the UNHCR for their intervention and assistance since they were the appropriate body to handle this matter. The Commissioner also wrote to the Minister for Interior and copied the Attorney General and Minister for Justice about the plight of the complainant and his family.
