CHARITY MENSAH vs. INTERCITY STC COACHES LTD.

As a result of her summary dismissal from the employment of the defendant company on 2nd August 2004, the plaintiff who was then a Sales Assistant at the Tudu Terminal of the defendant company caused this writ to be issued against the defendant. By the writ which was issued on 30th April 2007, the plaintiff’s claim against the defendant was as follows: “(a) A declaration that her dismissal is wrongful. (b) An order for the payment of her salary from the 1st day of August 2004 to the date of judgment. (c) An order for the commutation of her annual leave into cash from 2004 to the date of judgment (d) General damages for wrongful dismissal.” The plaintiff accompanied her writ with a statement of claim in which she explained the cause of her dismissal and the rational for her claim. The defendant company disputed the claim by the plaintiff by filing a statement of defence on 30th May, 2007 seeking to justify the dismissal of the plaintiff from its employment. ...
