THE REPUBLIC vs. LAWRENCE ATSU QUARSHIE AND TWO OTHERS (AT LARGE)
The 1st accused was charged with Conspiracy to commit crime to wit robbery contrary to section 24 (1) of Act 29 and robbery contrary to section 149 of Act 29 for having on the 10th day of February 2009 at about 10.30 p.m. conspired together with two others who are at large to commit robbery by the use of a gun and in the process overcame the resistance of the complainant and did steal thirteen (13) travelling bags containing 7 different sets of gold and diamond jewelry, two lap tops, a camera, credit cards and some assorted items all to the value of 1,900 U.S. Dollars, Ford Escape Car with registered number GR 8755 C and cash, the sum of 1,467 U.S. dollars and 150 pound sterling. The complainants are Mary Shirley Nunoo, her daughter Mercy Karikari who had just returned from the United States of America. The 1st accused pleaded not guilty to the charges. The facts were that the PW1 who is also the complainant is a dual citizen of Ghana and the U.S.A. but lives in the United States....
