SCANCOM LIMITED vs. STEPHEN WATSON
The Plaintiff, Scancom Limited, employed the Defendant, Stephen Watson, as Head of Section responsible for Market Research and Studies, later promoted to Senior Manager, Business Intelligence, Analysis and Planning. The Defendant resigned and immediately took up employment with Vodafone, a competitor. The Plaintiff sought a declaration that the Defendant is bound by restrictive covenants in his conditions of service preventing employment with competitors for one year post-termination, and an interlocutory injunction to restrain the Defendant from working with Vodafone pending final determination.
