JOSE NICO-ANNAN vs. TAYSEC CONSTRUCTION LTD.

The Plaintiff, a former employee of the Defendant Company, issued out Writ of Summons on 22nd December, 2008 against the Defendant Company for the following reliefs: “1. The recovery of the sum of £51,266.67 or its equivalent in cedis as the Plaintiff’s total Pound Sterling component of his Redundancy Award; 2. The recovery of the sum of £4,000.00 or its equivalent in cedis as the Pound Sterling component of payment in lieu of 3months’ notice; 3. The recovery of the sum of £3,151.51 or its equivalent in cedis as the Pound Sterling component of payment for commuted leave and; 4. Interest at the prevailing commercial bank lending rate on the foregoing amounts, from 16th August, 2008 till date of final payment.” In the accompanying Statement of Claim, the Plaintiff avers that he was employed by the Defendant Company in April 1993, and at the time he was leaving in July 2008, he was the Director of Business Development.
