E. O. ASARE & 85 OTHERS vs. ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI

The Petitioners, employees of AngloGold Ashanti, alleged non-payment of salaries from May 2008 to the date of hearing. Earlier, in May 2006, management informed workers of financial constraints due to alleged fraud and promised rectification within three months, which did not occur. The Petitioners initially petitioned the Commission in August 2007 and later withdrew to pursue a Fast Track Court case for two years' outstanding salary (May 2006 to May 2008), which remains pending. Some workers remain employed but unpaid since June 2008.
