YAW OPPONG vs. CHARLES ANARFI
The plaintiff, Yaw Oppong, claimed to have purchased House No Plot 35 Block AB Patase, West Kumasi from the defendant, Charles Anarfi, for GH¢40,000, supported by a written agreement. The defendant contended the transaction was a loan secured by the house, not a sale, and that the plaintiff's agent misrepresented the document as a purchase agreement. The defendant also claimed partial disbursement of the loan and intervention by a local chief to negotiate interest on the loan.
