INTRODUCTION In a referral letter dated 11th May 2009, the Office of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana (the Office) requested the Commission to investigate a complaint which alleged an instance of injustice against the Complainant on grounds of his political affiliation. COMPLAINANT'S CASE In the complaint, the Complainant stated that he was appointed as a District | Magistrate in 1981 and posted to Adansi - Fomena and assigned additional duties at the Obuasi District Court. According to the Complainant, the then District Secretary of Obuasi, Mr. Kwasi Oppong Fosu, invited him to preside over a Committee set up to probe the Adansi District Administration. To this end, the Complainant requested for permission from the District Administration for a temporary release to enable him preside over the Committee but his request was not granted.
