STEPHEN OPOKU vs. GHANA IMMIGRATION SERVICE
The Plaintiff herein, Stephen Opoku, a former staff of the Defendant, Ghana Immigration Service who was dismissed from the service commenced this action against the Defendant on 12 August, 2010 for the following reliefs: a. A declaration that the dismissal of the Plaintiff dated 13th July, 2009 by the Defendant is unlawful, illegal and unconstitutional. b. An order that the salary due the Plaintiff, effective 1st July, 2009 till date of final judgment be paid to Plaintiff. c. An order that the Defendant pays the benefits and entitlements due the Plaintiff from the date of employment to 13th July, 2009. d. Interest on reliefs (b) and (c) with effective from 1st July, 2009 until date of final payment. e. Compensation for unlawful dismissal. f. Costs. The Defendant entered appearance on 30th August, 2010 and it went on to file its statement of defence on 11th October, denying the claim of the Plaintiff.
