PETER WAKA AND OTHERS vs. THE TEACHING HOSPITAL BOARDKORLE BU TEACHING HOSPITAL

The thirty-seven Plaintiffs herein are all employees of the Revenue Unit of the Accounts Department of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. They have been in the employment of the Defendant for a considerable period of time, ranging between five (5) years and thirty-two (32) years. At various times in 2009, the Plaintiffs were invited in different groups to appear before the Revenue Committee of the Defendant to assist it to investigate an allegation of misappropriation of funds collected by them. The Plaintiffs duly appeared before the Revenue Committee wherefore various sums of money they were alleged to have embezzled were written on pieces of paper and handed over to them. Meanwhile, when the Plaintiffs allegedly confronted the said committee on the allegation of embezzlement, it could not offer any explanation as to the date and how the Plaintiffs embezzled the sums stated against their names.
