FAWZY ISSIFU vs. FIRST ATLANTIC BANK
JUDGMENT In an Amended Writ of Summons filed on 31st January 2014, the Plaintiff claimed against the Defendant the following reliefs: a) Recovery of the sum of US$5,000 or its equivalent in cedis at the prevailing forex bureau selling rate, being the balance outstanding on the agreed contractual fee of US$20,000 for Plaintiff’s installation of Net Teller Internet Banking Application. b) Interest on the sum of $5,000 at the prevailing commercial bank lending rate from June 18, 2012 up to and inclusive of the date of final payment. c) Recovery of the sum of $750 or the equivalent in cedis at the prevailing forex bureau selling rate being withholding tax deducted by Defendant on the sum of US$15,000 paid to Plaintiff by Defendant. d) Interest on the sum of $750 at the prevailing commercial bank lending rate from June 19, 2012 up to and including date of final payment. e) General damages for breach of contract. f) Costs including Solicitor’s fees.
