MRS. AGNES OFORI ALIAS AGNES OWUSU vs. JOSEPH KWADWO OFORI ANTWI

The parties herein converted their customary marriage into an ordinance marriage on 25th January, 2004. It was celebrated at the St. Peter’s Cathedral Parish in Kumasi. The marriage was blessed with two issues namely: Augustine Kwadwo Ofori Boateng and Philipa Asantewaa Ofori, 20 and 16 years of age respectively at the time the petition was filed. On 16th December, 2008, the Petitioner (wife) filed a petition praying for the dissolution of the marriage on the usual ground that it has broken beyond reconciliation. Several reasons were particularized for the assertion and these include adultery on the part of the husband, hereinafter called the Respondent. It may be relevant to reproduce the reasons given in support of the assertion of the Petitioner that the marriage is irreconcilable. They are stated in the petition as follows: - That the Respondent was seeing other women and threatened time and again to bring such women to the matrimonial home to the notice of the Petitioner. - .....
