The plaintiff is a retired police officer who put up a house on plot number 96 Block B, Santasi, Kumasi. It is not disputed the house got burnt on 23rd March, 2007. Plaintiff pleaded and testified that the burning of the house was caused by the negligence of the defendant company. His reason for so asserting was captured in his evidence as follows: “Q. Can you explain why you are saying defendant is responsible for the loss of your property? A. On the day the house got burnt ECG workers went to the area and changed an electric pole. Q. So what happened after that? A. My house got burnt on fire started from the ceiling. Q. Your house got burnt as a result of electric fluctuations? A. That is so. Q.
