COCONUT GROVE HOTELS LTD. AND PROGRESSIVE PEOPLES PARTY vs. AKUA DONKOR

The 1st plaintiff is a limited liability company registered under the Laws of Ghana and is engaged in the hospitality industry, whilst the 2nd plaintiff is a political party registered in Ghana with branches spread across the country. It is their case that during the electioneering campaign of the 2012 general elections in Ghana, 1st plaintiff released its Toyota Tundra pick up with registration number GC 3706-12 to the 2nd plaintiff to assist it in its political activities. The documents covering the vehicle were tendered in evidence as exhibit ‘A’. The exhibit showed it was originally owned by one Kwasi Nana Addae of Kumasi who sold it to the 1st plaintiff. Plaintiffs’ case is that when the vehicle came into the possession of the 2nd plaintiff, it was released to defendant to assist her mobilize votes to buttress the course of the Presidential candidate of 2nd plaintiff.
