RULING GEORGINA WOOD CJ It was provided by section 22(2) and (3) of the Interpretation Act, 1960 (CA 4) (repealed by section 52 of the Interpretation Act, 2009 (Act 792) that: "22(2) Where in an enactment a period of time is expressed to begin on a particular day, that day shall be included in the period. (3) Where in an enactment a period of time is expressed to be reckoned from, or after, a particular day, that day shall not be included in the period." (The emphasis is mine). It is also provided by section 44(2) and (3) of the Interpretation Act, 2009 (Act 792) (being a re-enactment of section 22(2) and (3) of CA 4) that: "44(2) Where in an enactment a period of time is expressed to begin on a particular day, that day shall be included in the period.
