OBED DANKWAH & 45 OTHERS vs. KIBI GOLDFIELDS LIMITED

The Respondent having noticed a drastic reduction in the gold recovery at its processing plant at Akim Saaman near Osino between October 2012 and March 2013 planted an informant at the plant site. On 14th March, 2013 the Respondent received information that four of the Complainants namely, Ibrahim Debrah, Bismark Nyarko, George Tagbor and Michael Adjei and other staff numbering about 41 most of whom are at large, conspired and stole an unspecified quantity of gold from the plant site. The Respondent reported the matter to the Ayinam Police who arrested the four Complainants named above together with others and arraigned them before the Magistrate Court, Ayinam on charges of conspiracy to commit crime and stealing. On 12th March, 2013 the Respondent verbally terminated the contracts of employment of the Complainants herein.
