GERTRUDE TORKORNOO(MRS), J.A. The Appellant is a customer of the Tamale main branch of the Barclays Bank (the bank) and commenced this action in the Circuit Court in Tamale. He was an employee of the Ghana Education Service (GES). The Respondents work as employees of the bank. The matters that led to this appeal arose from a series of communications that passed between the Ghana Education Service, the bank and the Appellant. I will set out in extensor the words used in the communications because this is an action for defamation. On 30th November 2010, the GES addressed a letter to The Bank Manager, Barclays bank, Ghana Tamale’ in these words: ‘EMBARGO ON SALARY MR ABDULAI ZAKARIA (STAFF ID NO. 207842). ‘The teacher, who is an employee of Ghana Education Service, is not at post.
