SENATOR HOTEL GHANA LTD vs. NANA ERNEST AIDOO
The plaintiff, Senator Hotel Ghana Ltd, a limited liability company engaged in hotel business, entered into a written lease agreement with the defendant, Nana Ernest Aidoo, a businessman, on 1 January 2013. The agreement rented the hotel premises and staff to the defendant for 24 months at a monthly rent of GH¢8,000, payable to the plaintiff's UBA bank account. The plaintiff claimed the defendant defaulted on rent payments from May to December 2014 totaling GH¢64,000, unpaid electricity bills of GH¢25,118.32, and destruction of hotel property valued at GH¢58,000. The defendant admitted the agreement but disputed payment terms and alleged overpayment and fabricated electricity bills. The defendant also denied responsibility for property damage and alleged malice by the plaintiff.
