The applicant, one Karikari Hammond, has requested this Court for leave to join the substantive suit as a defendant because he claims he has interest in a portion of land which forms part of the bigger tract of land which is the subject matter of this suit. He has attached to his application two exhibits, which are a lease and a land certificate which he says show his legal interest in the land in dispute. The applicant has also stated that the 2nd defendant who is not a respondent in this application obtained its interest in the land in dispute from the applicant herein. The applicant claims that his presence in this matter is necessary for the final and effective adjudication of the substantive suit. The 1st defendant has opposed this application, saying that it is misconceived, mischievous and an attempt to embarrass the first defendant and delay the trial of the matter.
