NESTLE GHANA LTD vs. GODFRIED BOAKYE
The plaintiff, Nestle Ghana Ltd, a company registered under Ghanaian law, sued the defendant, a former employee who held managerial positions including Decision Support Manager and Business Operations Controller. The defendant supervised regional sales controllers and was responsible for financial and administrative oversight. In October 2012, a complaint by the Northern Regional Sales Controller about a missing voucher led to an audit revealing irregular postings in regional accounts. These postings were traced back to the defendant's personal bank account, with a total misappropriation of GHC 374,503.12 alleged by the plaintiff. The defendant denied wrongdoing and counterclaimed wrongful dismissal and entitlement to provident fund benefits.
