GYAESAYOR, JA This is an appeal against the decision of the High Court, Accra dated 31st October 2016. The petitioner/respondent (hereinafter called petitioner) was the wife of the respondent/appellant (who shall be called respondent) and they lived together as husband and wife at Tebibiano at Teshie Accra. In her petition to the court dated 4th December,2013 the petitioner sought the following;- a. An order for the dissolution of the ordinance marriage contracted between the parties on the grounds that same had broken down beyond reconciliation. b. An order directed at respondent to settle on the petitioner one half of the parties’ matrimonial home located at Tebibiano, Teshie near Accra or to pay to the petitioner one half of the monetary value of the same. c.
