POKU- ACHEAMPONG, JA: This is an appeal against the judgment of the High Court Accra in a divorce case delivered on 18th December, 2015. In this judgment the Petitioner shall be referred to as the Respondent and the Respondent as the Appellant. The Appellant is aggrieved by the decision that he should transfer or convey title to the matrimonial home containing thirteen (13) rooms to the Respondent. In his book “The Law on Family Relations in Ghana” at chapter 8 titled Financial Consequences on Termination of Marriage by Divorce the eminent Prof. Emeritus W. C. Ekow Daniels has this quotation on divorce by JOSEPH JACKSON Q.C. which states as follows: “Divorce has become less about divorce and more about money. The process by which a divorce is obtained has become increasingly less significant. The parties now wage warfare on the battlefield of finance” (See page 329 of the book) This is an apt statement which accurately describes the circumstances of the instant case. ...
