MARIAMA OWUSU, J.A. On 21st November, 2014, the High Court, Commercial Division, Kumasi, gave judgment for the plaintiff against defendant. In his judgment, the trial Court Judge held among other things as follows: “Having made a finding that the plaintiff’s contract with the Total Petroleum Ghana was terminated as a result of the unprofessional (negligence conduct of the defendant), it goes without saying that the plaintiff is entitled to general damages for breach of contract. In awarding the damages to the plaintiff, I take into consideration the fact that his contract with the Total Petroleum Ghana was terminated in 2008. This suit has been in court for more than 5 years. The plaintiff has been out of work for all this while. The suit has suffered numerous adjournments. The plaintiff stays in Tamale and has to come to Kumasi anytime the suit is called. I think an amount of Gh¢100,000.00 to the plaintiff as general damages will be appropriate under the circumstances....
