THE REPUBLIC vs. GHANA NATIONAL GAS COMPANY LTD EX PARTE: KING’S CITY DEVELOPMENT CO. AND LANDS COMMISSION

The Applicants in this application before me seek an order to be joined to the suit as 2nd and 3rd Interested Parties, respectively, for the reasons set out in the accompanying affidavit in support, in which, among others, they claim to have brought this application in their respective capacities as the Mbusuapanyin or heads of family of the Akona and Ekissi families of Anaji, which is under the Sekondi Traditional Area in the Western Region of Ghana. The precursor to the present application is the pending Motion on Notice for Judicial Review filed by King’s City Development Co. Ltd., the Applicant/Respondent herein, against Ghana National Gas Co. Ltd., the Respondent therein, on January 7th, 2019, praying this court to exercise its judicial review powers under Order 55 rule 1 of the High Court (Civil Procedure Rules) 2004 (C.I 47) to make orders in the nature of mandamus (the “Review Application”) to compel the Respondent in that Application to pay to the Applicant/Respondent...
